swag

i'm in the home stretch. my first big craft show is coming up on sunday, and i've been sewing like mad! [hence my lack of presence here, and all the cataloguing posts]
the first thirty people to come through the doors at Got Craft? receive a swag bag full of goodies from the vendors at the show. for my swag donation,
i used some of my favourite scraps + turned them into fabric bookmarks.
i added a loop of twill tape at the top, meant to hang out of your book so you can easily find your spot. i hope people like 'em.

i've got loads more sewing to do this week, wish me luck! i'll share some pics along the way to give you a sneak peek. in the meantime, enjoy your week, and the beginning of december. [wow, seriously?]

scoutie girl gifts

have you ever been to scoutie girl gifts? if you're looking to buy more handmade goods online this holiday season, you should head on over right away for a fun way to find amazing, unique goodies.
tara gentile [of handmade in pa and scoutie girl] came up with such a brilliant way of highlighting handmade items. each mini gift guide is submitted by readers or friends, and is then posted by tara on her site.
what i love the most about scoutie girl gifts is that each guide is curated by someone new, so you get tonnes of great finds that you may not come across elsewhere. tara even wrote a section on 'how to buy handmade for beginners', a great place to start for those who are new to the idea. what's more, you can shop according to recipient, there are fresh selections almost every day, and the images rotate with each visit for a new look every time. you can even vote for your favourite guides! such a fun, interactive way to shop indie + handmade. well done, tara!
have a look at the gift guide i submitted to tara, which she published monday. i was inspired by my favourite colour [if you've been reading for a while, you may be able to guess what that is :)] and the coming winter weather. i called it aqua skies + snowflakes. i'll share a few of the pictures here, too.

november???

image via sweetbeets

seriously? november, i am not ready for you. i'm a little behind on this whole holiday shopping season prep, and just don't have enough ready-made stock! i'm going to be sewing like a crazy woman this next several weeks preparing for my two holiday shows, as well as what i hope to be a busy and successful first holiday season in my etsy shop.
please forgive me for what will likely mean a quieter presence on these pages. i am planning on posting in a catalogue style, pretty much meaning that i'll share a bunch of my faves + things i am lusting after, with a couple pictures, links, and very little writing :) think of it as a sort of gift guide, smidgebox style.

we'll start with the calendar i've shown above. lisa from sweetbeets created this gorgeous printable 2010 calendar, sent to you as a pdf, for you to print yourself. beautiful! though i'm not surprised, i'm a huge fan of sweetbeets, and love love love this calendar.
