happy easter!

as the easter long weekend is now underway, i thought i'd share the easter buckets i made and sent off over the past couple of weeks. it was fun to make them with the fabrics that parents chose for their kids, rather than pre-determined styles. i hope that these lucky kiddos will have loads of fun filling their special buckets with treats this sunday.

when i was a kid, my uncle had an incredible backyard overlooking the beach in west vancouver. his property extended from a rolling grassy yard, down a rocky cliff [walkable, not too steep] to the sand below. i was quite young, but i definitely remember the massive easter egg hunt he would put together for us each year. eggs hidden everywhere for my siblings, my cousins, and myself. sometimes it would take us all afternoon to find them all! we have some pretty adorable pictures of us in sweet easter dresses, bonnets or bowties, all gussied up to find our loot. i'll try to dig some up at my parents' house and share them with you sometime.

this sunday, my husband and i will create a magical little egg hunt for our kids. i hope someday, when they are grown with families of their own, that they will look back with fondness on the memories and traditions we are instilling in them now.
how about you, do you have any fond memories of easter from your childhood, or fun plans for the weekend with your own kids? i'd love it if you'd share them with me. if you're looking for some creative things to do with your eggs this year, have a look at poppytalk and le papier studio blog for some fantastic inspiration. happy easter to you all, i hope you enjoy your weekend!
