crisp + cool

i love the contemporary modern look of this bathroom. the wood gives it a lovely warmth, in contrast with the sharp linear style of the room as a whole. i also love the ice blue hand towels paired with everyday whites. crisp + cool.

this gorgeous space is found in an eco-friendly townhouse featured in the book dreaming green. i happened upon this book while i was in a local shop the other day, but only had a moment to flip through it. i was intrigued, so looked it up when i got home later on. looks like there would be lots of inspiring stuff inside!

books, books, books

i have a friend who dreams of having a large home library, stocked full of books from floor to ceiling. there would be a sliding ladder for her to swing back and forth, to pick out that day's preferred volume. we were chatting about this again the other day, and it got me thinking about modern libraries. then i came across this top photo over on layers and layers, so i thought i'd seek out a few more pics of libraries that i'd like in my own home. not only am i drawn to the bookshelves in these homes, but i am loving the whole vibe, the lightness + openness, and furnishings in each.

is there a special room you're coveting for your ideal home, or a favourite spot in your current home? i'd love to hear about it!

munro leaf

oh, how i love these delightful books by munro leaf. witty and educational, they will teach your child manners, hygiene, good behaviour and more. definitely a must-have series for your child's home library, leaf's words will keep you laughing while your kids learn the basic rules of society. simply amazing.
