oh hello there

i've been away, spending my days here

and my evenings here

gazing at amazing sunsets every night

and spending a whole lot of time with these two incredible kids.

i will be popping in and out of the blog this month again, i do hope you'll bear with me and these extended breaks. those two little people have five more weeks of summer vacation, and i plan on taking full advantage of the sunny weather and spending it outside. they grow so fast, don't they? i just want to enjoy them.

one week away

solitude, quiet company, insightful chats, smooth sand, expansive ocean, crisp air, skim boarding, beach volleyball, roasted hotdogs, fresh conversation, incredible friends.

a view that never gets tired, and wonderful people to share it all with, year after year. refreshed.

i'll be here. for a whole week.

these are just a few of the many many things i'd like to get from madewell, to pack with me when i jet off. where to, you ask? why, to france, to hang out with my friend sabine, drink cafe au lait, eat delectable pastries, and walk through the countryside in the glorious sunshine. bliss!

i just had the most incredible weekend. the weather could not have been better [except perhaps a little warmer!] and the company was divine.

we relaxed, drank tea, walked the beach looking for shells, indulged in cold beer + good wine + random chitchat, and gazed at the stars until the wee hours of the morning. quite simply, it was perfect.

this is where i'll be

i'm heading to the sweetest cabin on thormanby island tomorrow. seriously, one of my very favourite places in bc. there is a calm, relaxing pace to life on thormanby, it's absolutely idyllic. let's hope that little cabin is ready for 13 women to descend [i don't know if i am!!]. here we come.

going camping

we're heading off again tomorrow for six days of fun + outdoors. we haven't been camping yet this summer, so i'm really looking forward to it. i know we'll make some great family memories + come back feeling full on life. and how about this awesome tent? love it.

do you remember this post? well, i wish i could say i was packing a few cute + flirty frocks for this camping trip. truth is i'll be living in bathing suits, shorts, and tees. but hey, a girl can dream, right?

i will be back next monday, and i hope to be a little more on the ball with my posting than i was last week. i found it pretty hard to get in to the swing of things, especially since i knew i was headed off again so soon. anyhow, i have managed to set up a few more posts to pop up while i'm gone, so please don't stay away too long! have a great week...

the alders

i'm home! what a wonderful trip, full of good times + great friends. the kids had an absolute ball, freedom to play as they'd like and enjoy the beach to its fullest. us adults indulged in fabulous food + nightly happy hours, amazing company and memories to last forever. here's a taste of our week, i think these pics sum up our daily activities fairly well. if you're so inclined, there are a few more pics over on my flickr.

i'm a little slow-going getting back to the daily around here. we also have my father-in-law over for a visit, so i may be a little sparse this week. and next week, we're off on another wee trip, this time a rustic camping adventure on the sunshine coast. bear with me, i'll be back in the swing of things mid-august!! i promise to poke my head in here as often as i can...

if all is going as planned, i am currently chilling on the beach, watching my kiddies dig in the sand, loving our peaceful ocean surroundings. to me, these etsy beauties feel fresh + breezy + cool, just like i feel right now. enjoy!
