local focus :: smoking lily

for this week's local focus, i bring you victoria bc company smoking lily. the gals at smoking lily create beautiful clothing and accessories embellished with whimsical screenprints and appliques. all items are made in victoria by a handful of women, with supplies + materials sourced locally, or from across bc and canada. what a lovely sensibility.
my favourite winter skirt is a smoking lily lovely, grey stretch wool with an asymmetrical hem + an awesome octopus applique on one side. love. speaking of love, how about these great pieces? i think i need that hoody.

smoking lily's flagship store in victoria is a must see if you find yourself nearby. probably the tiniest shop on earth, it is a darling 4' x 11' storefront, chock full of yummy goodies stacked from floor to ceiling. they've also got a 'huge' vancouver shop [200 square feet!] on main street, one of my favourite neighbourhoods for shopping locally. do pay them a visit if you're in town!

smoking lily's goods can be found in their shops, online, and at several stores across canada, [including one of my faves, room6 here in north van]. check them out for fun + unique finds.
