happy birthday

to my sweet husband. he may not like the fact that i'm posting a picture of him here, but he'll just have to live with it.

happy birthday to the most wonderful man i've ever known, and the best dad i could ever imagine for our kiddos. love you!

ps - we'll be on this beach in 10 days! i cannot wait.

wedding day

one of the best parts of our wedding day is that we got to share it with our son. o was only two-and-a-half when we got married, and he was a total doll. except for the fact that he cried [wailed!] for a solid five minutes after the ceremony started. and this boy has quite a set of lungs, let me tell you.

it was sweet, actually, and helped me contain my tears with a good dose of laughter. he wasn't quiet until someone got smart and brought him some cookies.

these are just a couple more wedding pics, two of my very favourites. up top, the three of us are walking back down the aisle [gravel path?] to one of my fav old songs, the turtles 'happy together'. down below, our happy little family, married at last and missing just one member, who arrived a little over a year later.

smidegbox designs is officially up and running on etsy! i am so excited and thrilled to announce the opening of my shop. i have been working towards this for some time, and i hope you'll stop by for a visit. thanks to my husband, and all my family + friends for encouraging me with my little business, i couldn't have done it without you all.

smidgebox designs was born from a need to be creative, and a desire to be close to home with my two young kids. i specialize in tote bags for adults + children, and fun accessories for wee ones. inspired by the many incredible fabrics available to me, i love putting together different combinations to showcase these textiles and create a unique product for you and your child. i welcome custom orders, and love to work with your favourite colours or nursery theme. personalizing an item with a child's initials makes for a special gift for newborns and preschoolers alike.

my state of the art husband

this past weekend, derek and i got to spend a night in whistler so that we could go to the opening of his first art show, state of the art. it's a collaborative show with over 30 artists, and is part of the telus world ski & snowboard festival.

you can see more of derek's work on his blog. and check out the graphics he designed for this snowboard for local company endeavor. it comes out next season, and lucky me, i'm well overdue for a new ride.
